WP4: Testing materials and developing a showcase to enable teachers and teacher

The Work Package 4 (WP4) aims to equip science and geography teacher trainees with the skills to incorporate diversity and inclusion into their teaching practices. By leveraging virtual field trips (VFTs) as a tool, WP4 seeks to make the curriculum more diverse and inclusive, ensuring that all students, regardless of their backgrounds, are represented and engaged in their learning.

Teacher educator training – Hambourg (2025)

Project objectives regarding the teacher educator training:

· Critically assess the outcomes produced, including videos, guidelines, virtual field trips, toolkits, and teacher materials. The goal is to create tailored resources for curriculum integration, equipping trainees with the skills necessary for diversity-sensitive teaching practices using VFTs in sustainability education.

· Implement theoutcomes produced into teacher training programs to enhance inclusivity and diversity in geography and science education. This objective emphasizes sustainability through innovative virtual field trips, enriching students’ learning experiences with immersive real-world sustainability challenges, thereby fostering deeper comprehension and engagement.

 

 

Teacher training – Vienna 2026

The learning objectives for the teacher educator training are as follows:

· Provide educators and geography and science teachers with the skills to drive change and develop diversity-sensitive teaching practices using VFTs in the context of sustainability education.

· Develop exemplary cases for the final digital exhibition, with educators embedding Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) principles, alongside diversity and inclusion, into their teaching methods.
